Colonel Boyd seemed to know some of the Confederate soldiers even the soldier who captured him asked “Be you from Louisville"? After answering "yes I lived there at one time" the soldier said “I thought I saw you around Louisville". Boyd was not harassed or punished during his travels with the Confederate company. He was even given a horse to ride because the soldiers felt sorry for him since he was an officer.
