Colonel Boyd was assigned to the third floor. The rooms marked 4 and 5 were appropriated to the use of the prisoners from Chickamagua. The “Dining room” is marked 6; carpenter shop is 7; prisoners from Gettysburg were in rooms marked 8 and 9; the hospital is marked 10; the east cellar or “Rat Hell” is marked 11; Number 12 is the sidewalk on Canal Street which was 3 feet lower than Carey Street; 14 is an open lot;  Number 16 and 17 is a fence and shed; Number 18 a warehouse; Number 19 an office.
